On Saturday, June 9, a protest against the detention of asylum-seeking mothers was held outside the Federal Detention Center in SeaTac, with special appearances and speeches by Gov. Jay Inslee and King County Executive Dow Constantine.
Protesters say they were there to show solidarity with the more than 200 immigrant mothers imprisoned at the center, separated from their children after arriving at the US/Mexico border seeking asylum.
Numerous other local politicians were present as well.
