Burien icon Dan “The Sausageman” House worked hard to build his first business on the roads, selling sausage from his old Dodge Dart all over the south King County area.
Now, in addition to his recent, award-winning Dan the Sausageman business, he owns the Tin Room Restaurant and Theater, as well as co-owner (with Frank Ricci) of the newly-opened Burien Pizzeria.
Many Readers may think that 2018 is The Year of Danny House, with all the accolades he’s received, including traveling to Washington, D.C. to accept the Small Business Administration’s WA State Small Business Person of the Year award (watch the video here).
For Dan, giving back is second nature, and he’s been doing it for years:
- 5,000 meals donated
- $1,000s in matching donations for full scholarships to local trade schools
- $41,000+ to local events, foundations, & fundraisers
Now, he wants to revitalize a local play field, and Burien’s Key Bank recently surprised him with a $20,000 grant:
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Danny is looking for Volunteers to join a committee to help formulate a plan for this grant. If you’re interested in helping, please email editor@b-townblog.com with the topic “I’ll help Danny,” and we’ll make sure he gets your info.
